In spite of the high hardness and high toughness of the HARDOX wear plate, conventional engineering workshop methods can be used to form it into the components or structure you need.
Bending and shearingThe combination of high purity and very close thickness tolerances make HARDOX wear plates suitable for bending. Gas cutting can be used for any HARDOX wear plate.

Welding
The steel grades in HARDOX wear plate have a low content of alloying elements and thus have low carbon equivalents. As a result, they can be easily welded to each other and to all ordinary structural plate using any conventional welding method.

Machining
Machining can be drilling, counterboring, countersinking, tapping or milling. The HARDOX wear plate can be machined with high speed steel (HSS) or cemented carbide (CC) tools.
